Hillside Gives Money Back To Residents!!!

The Landfill in the Village of Hillside is closed due to the work of the Village President Joe Tamburino and the Village Board. Now, residents call all receive up to $438.00 in checks from the closure.

Applications for residents to apply for landfill "host" fee reimbursement checks will be in Hillside residents' mailboxes this week.

Homeowners who fill out the application can send in or drop off the completed application at Hillside Municipal Complex, 425 Hillside Ave. Residents who meet the requirements will receive $438.

Hillside Village Administrator Russell Wajda said the applications have been sent out and the sooner people return the completed applications the better. He said he hopes to get as many checks cut as possible before the Dec. 23, but checks will be disbursed monthly. Applications will be accepted until Nov. 30, 2009.

COMING SOON...Hillside Town Center!!!

The Proviso Herald reports significant development with the new Hillside Town Center. According to David Pollard of the Herald, four more stores have signed on to be a part of the project at Mannheim and Harrison joining Super Target, Staples and Holiday Inn Express. Opposition Gearing Up In Stone Park, Hillside, Bellwood, Maywood, Melrose Park & Westchester!!!

The Insider has learned that opposition parties are currently forming in Stone Park, Hillside, Bellwood, Maywood, Melrose Park, and Westchester. Each party plans on running full slates against incumbents in April of 2009. Stone Park is reportedly in the midst of heavy financial problems. Hillside residents are fuming over the handling of the Hillside landfill. Bellwood residents are reportedly fed up with insider deals and cronyism. Maywood residents want to toss out the Yarbroughs and Ed Smith's west side influence. Former Stone Park Trustee Jesse Martinez is delusional and thinks he can oust Melrose Park Mayor Ronald Serpico. Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica and Former SD209 Board member Mike Manzo plan on running a slate against Westchester Mayor Paul Gattuso. Proviso Township will be hot in 2009.

Hillside Ready For Target Store!!!

The Village of Hillside is clearing land on Mannheim Road and Harrison Street paving the way for a major new development. Sources tell the Insider that the Village and Target Corporation have reached agreement for a store at the location which is set to open by the Spring of 2009. Just in time for the April 2009 election. Also pegged for the site is a Staples store and a new Holiday Inn Express. Kudos to Hillside!!!
