Financial Crisis At Regional Superintendent's Office!!!

David Pollard of the Pioneer Press Newspapers, aka the Proviso Herald, is reporting that employees at the Regional Superintendent's Office, headed by Charles A. Flowers, will not be paid today. Pollard writes that:

Friday will be payday for some, but employees working for Suburban Cook County Regional Office of Education in Westchester may leave for the weekend empty-handed. Office employees, speaking on condition of anonymity, say they were notified via email April 15 that they would not be paid on April 17.
Although there is the likelihood the office will not have payroll checks for the office's 18 employees, they still continue to come to work and say they are fearful about speaking out publicly about their predicament.
What do you think should be done? Who's to blame? What's your opinion?

Has Flowers destroyed the Regional Superintendent's office?

First of all I would like to thank the person who posted this on this blog. You don't know how good it feels to finally get some movement on exposing this fool. Oh yes, he has messed up the office and he is at Karen Yarbrough's office right now asking for money. My question for Big Charlie is, "when can I get my check that I worked for." You cut my hours and then you don't want to pay me? Why am I still even coming to work. The State should just shut this place down. It's the same mess every payroll. An email at the last minute saying we not getting paid like we don't have bills and families to take care of. Let's not even start with the Business Manager. Those Flowers' turned her against her own boss Willie Mack who got laid off the other day. This just makes no sense. Someone needs to investigate and people, please watch who you vote for next time!!!

Well I guess that will explain the comment I heard by a lady in the office while there the other day. His "friends in high places" explains everything. WOW!! They need to speak at low tones over there if you don't want anyone to know what is going on.

The office was so empty and quiet, I was just sitting there listening. Talking about how Dr. Flowers understands we have families. Yeah right!!! I would not be working under his ass!!! You would have thought they were boasting about it. Who is going to boast when he gets investigated? HMMMMMMMMMMMMM tax dollars at work!!!

Well, Well, Well, I see why Flowers and crew was over at Yarbrough's office. I saw them while I was at the office today. Considering the fact that he has not made an effort to come and see the rep since he has been in office but once, now he comes when he has trouble. Go figure. Now he comes to the PTDO for assistance. And to think, I believed in his sorry ass!!! All at the meetings and events he attended in the beginning to use the organization to place him in office, and looks how he repays us? I hope she sent his ass with his tail tucked between his legs back to his office.

I feel sorry for those people over at the ROE. There is nothing worse than not knowing where your next check is coming from. I bet his family is getting paid...Who is it? his sisters AND a nephew. Oh I almost forgot his piece, Della. I saw her not too long ago after the elections, she looked like a sad sack. The bags under her eyes were darker than usual. Not to mention him. I know HE is still getting a check. He gets his from the state. Who has contacted THEM about this rigamarole? Talking about keeping it in the family!!! After reading the posts above, DAMN!! the County? $190,000, and can't pay the employees in the office. WTF were we doing to endorse this idiot?

Well to the employees at the office, keep your head up, there is a brighter day ahead and you will prevail. All of Flowers' friends and family that work in that office will get what's coming to them. This cannot go on forever!!!

To Dr. Charles Flowers, "you better run Forrest, run Forrest run!!!" When it rains, it pours.

Well, hate to say it but this is no surprise! We knew from the start what a LOSER Flowers is and that he would bankrupt the ROE sooner or later with all the brand new computers, cell phones, tv's and who knows what else. Not to mention all of the nepitism (hiring of relatives) at over inflated salaries, none of which were ever qualified to be in those positions, and those that were not relatives, were FIRED District Superintendents and Business Managers and/or definitely departed the District under severe suspicion of wrong-doing. And now we have a taste of what the Obama administration will do to this country!

REsign now,Mr. Flowers said...

The word on the street is that nobody with proper qualifications wants the job of regional superintendent. Anyone with the credientials for the post would not want it because they instead can aspire to be a school superintendent and make 3 times more.
That said, would Yarbrough back replacing Flowers? It seems to me that Flowers has shown that he is a liability and finding a replacement is the only logical thing to do.
Can our local Mayors and our local leaders get together and pressure Yarbrough to pull her support and to help the school disitricts of suburban Cook to replace this disgusting character? Everyday that passes,he continues to make hay out of this deptartment and will either suceed in having the office eliminated or will cause all local school districts to pull out and work with the state to have the neccesary paperwork processed by the state.
Please, for the good of our children, let's remove Flowers and his friends and family from this most important office,NOW!

Dear REsign now:

Yarborough PUT Flowers in this position!!! She is the one who was behind getting him elected in the first place. Yes, Suburban Cook needs to get Flowers removed but the only one who can do this is ISBE (IL State Bd of Ed). So if everyone would do their part and call ISBE and file complaints against Flowers and the SCCROE, maybe ISBE would do something! Call Christopher Koch NOW and really do something to make a difference! And yes, there was a qualified individual who ran the ROE and wanted to stay in that position - Robert Ingraffia. He and his staff ran that office very well! He never would have been out if this was not an elected position - i.e., corrupt Chicago politics at play. If he filled out an application, he would have been hired and still would have been in that position!

I worked for the ROE when Ingraffia was in office, and yes we ran that office very well! I have spoken to some people who still work there and they say that ISBE has been contacted and nothing still has been done. Flowers has let this position go to his head and created job positions that were not needed. When we ran that office we didn't have all of the admins and the floaters and all the assistant superintendents. That was not needed and by the looks of things they are still not needed because this office has went down. How do you operate and you can't pay employees. This does not add up. Someone needs to get him out of office immediately. Ingraffia would have never let anything like this happen, ever.

aS I HAVE SAID A MILLION TIMES, LIKE THE TOWNSHIP SCHOOL TRUSTEES AND THE TOWNSIP SCHOOL TREASURER, AND ALL OF TOWNSHIP GOVERNMENT IN COMPLETELY BUILT-UP URBAN AREAS LIKE TOWNSHIP, WE DO NOT NEED ANY OF THESE LEVELS OR ELEMENTS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXCEPT TO FEED A VERY FEW PATRONAGE JOBS AND PATRONAGE CONTRACTS. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE TRIED TO COMMUNICTE FOR YEARS???
