Bellwood Police Officer Jeannette Johnson Set To Run For Mayor of Bellwood?

Sources report that popular Bellwood police officer Jeannette Johnson is set to run for Mayor of Bellwood against incumbent Frank Pasquale. The election is set for April 2009 and Johnson would be a formidable opponent. A long time Bellwood resident, long time Bellwood police officer and former school board President, Johnson has the support of former police chief Greg Moore, the FOP, many in the African-American community, and financial backing from a local millionaire businessman. Johnson could also self-finance her campaign with cash from her NBA basketball player son Awvee Storey or from the money she won in a big lawsuit against the village last year. Is this the beginning of a new era in Bellwood? Is the end near for the current administration? If so, why? Where did they go wrong?

Good luck to her. Too bad she'll inherent a bankrupt Village - looted by the most corrupt and inept characters in Proviso.

She DOES NOT have the support of the FOP! Watch and learn as the FOP backs the Mayor.

I have called the FOP National and local. johnson does not have the support of FOP Lodge. They are not even talking about the race for Mayor. they are really not interested in johnson to say the least.

Officer Anonymous does not speak for the FOP. The mayor is anti-labor. GO JEANNETTE!

How many of them actually live in Bellwood? So whose vote really counts?

Could the Proviso Insider please post any old or new information available on Jeannette Johnson?
Information on a police officer is rather hard to get.
I'm very interested in finding out more about this candidate.
Thanks in advance.

Officer Anonymous, Jeanette was president of her FOP lodge when the mayor had her arrested. Did you mention that to them? Did you also ask them if they are supporting the mayor?
